Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026
- VidCite only has read-only access to your YouTube channel. We can't upload, edit or delete anything.
- We use your data only to show you your own channel insights.
- We never sell your data and never use it for advertising.
- Disconnect anytime: we revoke our access and delete your YouTube data.
This Privacy Policy explains how VidCite ("VidCite", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website at vidcite.space and the VidCite service (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
From your Google account (when you sign in)
- Your Google account ID, email address and basic profile information (name), so we can create and secure your VidCite account.
From YouTube API Services (when you connect your channel)
With your permission, VidCite uses YouTube API Services with these read-only permissions:
youtube.readonly: to read your channel ID and title, and your videos' titles, descriptions, durations, publish dates and type (Short, video or live).yt-analytics.readonly: to read your channel's analytics, such as views, watch time, subscribers gained, views from YouTube search, average view duration and audience retention.
We also store an encrypted access token from Google so the Service can update your statistics each day without you signing in again.
Information collected automatically
- A secure session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Basic technical logs (such as error logs and request times) that help us keep the Service running and secure.
Information you send us
- If you email us, we keep your email address and message so we can reply.
2. How we use your information
- To show you statistics and insights about your own YouTube channel and videos.
- To refresh your statistics on a regular schedule.
- To run, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Service.
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the Service.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles of you for anyone else.
3. Google API Services and Limited Use
VidCite's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
VidCite uses YouTube API Services. By using VidCite you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
4. How we share information
We only share your information:
- With service providers who host and operate the Service for us (for example, cloud hosting and database providers). They may only use it to provide services to VidCite.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the Service.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data.
Your YouTube data is never shown to other VidCite users.
5. How we store and protect your data
- Google access tokens are stored encrypted.
- Data is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
- Access to production systems is limited to people who need it to run the Service.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
6. How long we keep your data
- YouTube data is kept while your channel is connected, so we can show you trends over time.
- When you disconnect your channel, we revoke VidCite's access with Google and delete your stored YouTube data.
- Account information (your email and account ID) is kept until you ask us to delete your account.
- Billing records, if you ever buy anything from us, are kept as long as the law requires.
7. Your choices and rights
- Disconnect your channel from inside VidCite at any time.
- Revoke access from Google at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. VidCite will lose access immediately.
- Access, correct or delete your data: email us at support@vidcite.space and we'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR or the CCPA). Contact us to use them.
8. Children
VidCite is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know by email or on the website before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
